ST. CLOUD -- There are a handful of road construction projects for central Minnesota that will impact traffic this summer.

Among those projectsis a resurfacing project on Highway 15 and Highway 10 in St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids and Sartell. Project Supervisor Tim Paul says the $18-million project will start after the 4th of July and begin on Highway 15 north of the Mississippi River.  Paul says they'll reconstruct the northbound lanes of Highway 15 first, starting just north of the Mississippi River.  Traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes.  Traffic will then be switched over to the newly constructed northbound lanes while the southbound lanes are rebuilt.  Paul says they plan to have that work done by Labor Day.

Work is then scheduled to begin on Highway 10 between St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids after September 2nd.  Paul says they'll complete the westbound lanes yet this year and complete the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 in the spring of 2015.

Other projects in the area include the Highway 10 and Benton County Road 2 interchange, signal and access work on Highway 23 between St. Cloud and Waite Park, and the Highway 23/Highway 10 interchange in east St. Cloud.

The city of St. Cloud is in charge of the new interchange at Highway 15 and 33rd Street South and Benton County also has the County Road three interchange project at Highway 10.

In all, Paul says it's one of the biggest construction seasons in central Minnesota recently with almost $40-million in projects slated for completion.
