CLEVELAND - The Minnesota Twins are on the verge of making history. Their magic number to clinch a wild card spot is down to one. When they clinch, they will become the first team ever to lose 100 games the previous year, then make the playoffs the following year.

Senior Director of Communications for the Minnesota Twins Dustin Morse says they're definitely planning a locker room celebration.

We coming off that season last year, I was talking with Brian Dozier and he said 'oh yeah we're popping bottles'.  So, when that happens there's a plan to celebrate with each other as a team in the locker room.

Morse says this team has been compared a lot to the world championship teams of 1987 and 1991. He says the key is to just get in the postseason and then see what happens.

Once the Twins lock up their playoff spot, it is likely they'll travel to New York to play a one-game playoff with the other wild card team the Yankees. That will be on Tuesday night of next week.

Wednesday's game - and all Twins baseball games - can be heard on AM 1240 WJON. The pre-game starts at 5:30 p.m., with the first pitch at 6:10 p.m.
