BAGLEY, Minn. (AP) - A 41-year-old Fosston man died after his jacket became tangled in an automatic door at a northern Minnesota hardwood company.

Reports say the worker's jacket snagged on a storage building's door as it rose, lifting him to his death Tuesday morning.

It happened at Bagley Hardwood Products in Bagley, about 25 miles west of Bemidji.

Police Chief Larry Peterson says the man was standing next to the door measuring roughly 40 feet wide and 20 feet high when it started going up.

Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health is assisting police in the investigation.

In 2012, during its most recent routine inspection by OSHA, the company was fined $1,025 for violations involving elevated railing and storage of flammables. Four years earlier, it was fined $280 for noise violations.
