MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A man accused of killing two young women is now facing a sexual assault charge in Anoka County.

Alberto Palmer had been charged with premeditated first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Brittany Clardy. Her body was found Feb. 19 in a car at an impound lot.

According to information presented Friday in Anoka County court, the 24-year-old now faces a second charge of first-degree murder while committing first- or second-degree sexual assault.

Palmer also was charged last month in Hennepin County in the death of 24-year-old Klaressa Cook. Her body was found in a car towed to a Minneapolis impound lot.

After the hearing Friday as two guards escorted him to jail, Palmer said he "didn't do it." He didn't add any details.

His next hearing is Feb. 20.
