A longer than normal winter/snow season this year meant most Minnesota baseball teams spent a majority of their time inside, able to practice but not play full games.

With last week's thaw and melting of snow, Brian Deyak and his crew at the MAC went into overdrive to get things ready for the rest of this abbreviated season.

Despite the condensed schedule, and the high traffic it will create, Deyak said there was no possibility of staggering games to protect the turf.

Typically, Joe Faber Field (pictured above) thaws/dries a little slower than its neighbor Dick Putz Field. However, last week's warmup was so intense that it seemed to even things out.

According to Deyak, the challenge now will be squeezing in as many games as possible before the end of May.
