LaVonne was born on May 24, 1939 in Henderson, MN to Alfred and Esther (Nagel) Lieske. She was married to Rodney Holm and they later divorced. LaVonne married John Bangsund in August of 1974 in St. Cloud. She has lived in the St. Cloud area for the last 40 years. LaVonne was a billing office assistant for Centracare Health System and previously worked for Country Manor Health Care and Rehab Center in Sartell. LaVonne was a friend to all she met. Young or old, rich or poor, bagboy or business executive she treated them all with the same warmth, kindness, and compassion, making lifelong friends wherever she went. People were her favorite hobby, with shopping a close second. She also enjoyed travel, especially road trips with husband John to destinations like Nova Scotia, Los Angeles, and the Black Hills. She and John also spent many happy summers on their boat on Lake Superior, where of course she befriended the entire marina. She will always be remembered as a loving, laughing person who reached out to everyone and placed others before herself.

LaVonne is survived by her loving husband, John Bangsund of St. Cloud; son and daughter, Perry (Sheri) Holm of Fergus Falls and Jaye “Judy” (Theodore Durbin) Lawrence of Northfield; grandchildren, Kristen Riehle and Teagan Riehle; Step-children, Tim, Terry and Jackie; and sisters, Ethel (Orville) Beuch, Carol (Lowell) Pogatchnik, Lois Scherer, Dorothy Peterson, Claire Dulgar and Lorraine (Paul) Doring. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ellen Lieske and brothers in law, Delmar Peterson, Lynn Walling and Bernie Scherer.
