MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Democratic U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar raised more than three times more in campaign cash than Republican challenger Kurt Bills over the last three months.

Both candidates released their fundraising totals Friday for the second quarter of 2012. Klobuchar's campaign reported raising $950,000, and having $5.5 million in the bank. Bills' campaign reported raising $243,300 during the same period.

Bills did not immediately reveal how much cash the campaign has left in the bank at this time.

Incumbent Klobuchar, first elected in 2006, has long been expected to enjoy a significant financial advantage over her Republican opponent. Bills is a first-term state representative from Rosemount.
