
Resident’s Quick Action Stops Rochester Apartment Fire in its Tracks
Upon entering the home through the front door, crews found the resident had extinguished the fire, the news release says.
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester resident’s quick actions stopped an apartment fire in its tracks on Tuesday.

A news release issued by the Rochester Fire Department says crews responded to the fire in southeast Rochester shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Responding firefighters found light gray smoke coming from the home when they arrived at the scene.

Couch Catches Fire at Southeast Rochester Apartment, Resident Puts it Out Before Firefighters Arrive
The fire broke out at an apartment in the 1400 block of 6th Ave. Southeast. Upon entering the home through the front door, crews found the resident had extinguished the fire, the news release says.
All occupants of the residence had evacuated before firefighters arrived at the home, officials say. Firefighters deployed fans to funnel the light smoke out of the apartment.

The occupants were eventually allowed to return to the residence. No injuries were reported.
The news release indicated a couch inside of the apartment had started on fire.
Damage was limited to the couch inside of the home. No structural damage to the building was reported, the news release says.
Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Rochester Police Department also responded to the apartment fire.
