MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Hopkins man is accused of using a butcher knife to kill his longtime friend after drinking alcohol and eating marijuana gummies.

A criminal complaint charges 62-year-old Daniel Johnson with second-degree murder in the death of his friend identified only as "C.K." Police were called to an apartment in downtown Hopkins Friday night where the victim was found with a cut to his throat and stab wounds to his torso.

Authorities say Johnson was found in a hallway with a bloody knife at his feet. Acquaintances told police Johnson and the victim were longtime friends and that they weren't aware of any friction between the two.

Johnson is being held on $1 million bail ahead of a court appearance Tuesday.
