Gophers Lose Tourney Opener To Middle Tennessee State

Middle Tennessee State beat the Gophers 81-72 Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee.

Minnesota's season ends with an overall record of 24-10.

Freshman Amir Coffey led the Gophers with 17 points, while Dupree McBrayer added 16 in the loss for Minnesota.
