DULUTH (AP) - A 14-mile section of the Willard Munger State Trail that was damaged by June flooding in the Duluth area has reopened.

The Department of Natural Resources made the announcement Wednesday.

The trail between Carlton and West Duluth is open for walkers and will be open for snowmobilers after enough snow falls. The DNR says that because several stretches have been temporarily repaired and resurfaced with gravel, the trail may not be good for bicycles or in-line skaters.

Final repairs, including repaving, won't happen until next year.
