Fire Destroys Home In Avon Township

AVON TOWNSHIP - A home near Avon was destroyed by fire early this (Tuesday) morning.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department says the call came in just before 3:00 a.m. on 185th Avenue in Avon Township.

The home owned by 22-year-old Kayla Lukaswicz and 25-year-old David Ratcliff was fully engulfed by the time fire fighters arrived.

The homeowners and their pets were able to get out safely.

The total financial loss is not known yet, but it's considered a total loss.

The cause is believed to be electrical.

The American Red Cross is helping the homeowners.  The Red Cross provides emergency relief, such as shelter, clothing, food, health services, and emotional support, to those affected by disaster.
