OCTOBER FUN

As a child growing up in rural Minnesota, October was always a special time for me. I loved trick or treating, dressing up, enjoying pumpkin-face painted cookies from my aunt Marlene, and enjoying all the fun festivities of fall.

I've just discovered a magical event that you and your family can enjoy.

THE GREAT PUMPKIN TRAIL

It's called 'The Great Pumpkin Trail." This trail is illuminated by over 10,000 lights and has detailed, carved Jac-o'-lanterns all along the trail. The Great Pumpkin Trail is located at 28186 Kettle River Blvd N, Wyoming, MN 55092.

There are spooky faces and creatures that pop up throughout the trail, and according to their website, each pumpkin tells a unique story. This is a 1/2 mile trail, that's interactive and fun for the entire family.

I've watched a video that takes you along the trail, which seems quite interactive and magical. Afterward, you can hang around for bonfires, multiple food vendors, games, fun photo opportunities, and much more.

Also, if you have an all-adult party going, there is a beer garden reserved for 21+ guests to enjoy an adult beverage.

HOW TO GET TICKETS

If you want to go to this event, you first select the day you want to go. The trail is open from October 4th through November 2nd. All ages are welcome but guests who are 12 and under, must be accompanied by an adult. Children who are two years old or younger do NOT need a ticket when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Online tickets and reservations are not required but are highly recommended. Days, times, and ticket types will sell out and may not be available for onsite sales.

Crowded House at The Ledge Amphitheater, 2024

The Australian 80s/90s pop band Crowded House brought their Gravity Stairs Tour to celebrate the release of their 8th studio album by the same name to Waite Park. Lead singer Neil Finn's son, Liam opened the show with his solo work and then joined the band later. The photo gallery below captures the fun of the night.

Stray Cats At The Ledge Amphitheater, 2024

The Ledge continues to bring in fun/mainstream acts and on August 9, 2024, the Stray Cats strutted into town for their Summer Tour 24'. A new band called Midnight Cowgirl opened the show. Here are some pictures from the concert.
