A Whole Health Fair is scheduled for Sep. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bldg. 8 (Auditorium), St. Cloud VA Medical Center, located at 4801 Veterans Drive, in St. Cloud.
Veterans and family members are invited to attend; pre-registration is not required. The fair includes Veteran speakers, healthy teaching kitchen demonstrations, Whole Health presentations, and prize drawings.
About Whole Health:
Whole Health is the term applied to VA’s approach to health care, which is moving away from a system designed around appointments focused on disease management to a health relationship that is based on keeping Veterans healthy! Clinical appointments are just part of this approach; the VA system of care includes self-empowerment, self-healing and self-care. In VA’s Whole Health system of care, Veterans are empowered to explore what matters most—to determine why their health is important. Veterans are then equipped with self-care, skill building and support to their personal health plans. Supporting services are offered and include proactive, complementary approaches such as stress reduction, yoga, tai chi, mindfulness, nutrition, acupuncture and health coaching.
