Unity Spiritual Center of Sartell, Minnesota, will host its sixth annual “John Denver Sunday” December 8 at 10 AM.
The popular service draws John Denver fans from across the region to celebrate one of the world’s best-known and best-loved performers. His music and spirituality will be presented by musician Dennis Warner and other accomplished musicians from the area.
John Denver earned international acclaim as a songwriter, performer, actor, environmentalist and humanitarian. Denver’s career spanned four decades and his music has outlasted countless musical trends and garnered numerous awards and honors. His music spoke to many on a spiritual level, as his songs often captured his deep reverence for life and nature and the Divine force behind them.
Performer Dennis Warner has taken Denver’s sentiment throughout the country to many places of worship, presenting The Spirituality of John Denver with songs and stories. Warner has released 10 CD’s and the acclaimed children’s book, Beads on One String. He’s performed in concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and was a featured performer at the Parliament of the World’s Religions conference in Toronto, where 7500+ attended the week-long event, representing over 220 different faiths from around the globe.
Warner will be accompanied by Cristina Seaborn (piano, fiddle), Allen Brisse (bass, guitar, vocals), Dennis “DK” Kennedy (percussion, harmonica), Pat Curto (percussion, vocals), and special guest Charlie Roth (guitar, vocals).
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to stay after the service for chili (meat and meatless), corn muffins and dessert for a suggested $5 love offering.
