October 22, 200 Orphanages Worldwide is hosting the 2nd annual “Tanzania
Tonight”, benefiting St. Teresa’s Orphan Foundation based in Rice
Minnesota. The orphanage and school in Tanzania serves 400 children. This year’s event and silent auction, includes a raffle to help fund Phase One of a well for the orphans.

Included in the evening is entertainment, African Market, drinks, and light bites, inspired by Tanzanian culture. St Teresa’s founder, Teresa Nyirenda-Litchy, currently lives in Rice and will share inspiring stories of the children she serves, and how the help and love of strangers changes lives. She now spends her life, while raising her own family, helping orphaned and vulnerable children across the world. Board members Willis and Jodi Kleinjan, and others are cohosting the event will share their passion for helping orphans in Teresa’s care.

Last year’s event raised more than $13,000 to complete the boy’s dormitory. This year, the priority need is for clean water that to benefit 400 children as well as surrounding villagers. 100% of donations go toward the well. Since 2008, 200 Orphanages Worldwide, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit, has partnered with organizations like St. Teresa’s funding more than fifty building projects, providing safety, shelter, and sustainability to hundreds of vulnerable and orphaned children around the world. Jan Skalicky Hanson, formerly of Sartell, founded the organization with a mission to mobilize donors and supporters to improve the lives of orphans. With 17 US based orphan care partners to date, donors have funded projects in Mexico, India, Kenya, Haiti, and 11 other developing nations.

Over the past 11 years, donors have answered the call and almost $1 million toward safety, shelter and sustainability, including clean water wells, dormitories, dining halls, security walls and more. Hanson, Teresa Nyirenda, and Willis and Jodi Kleinjan are available to share their hands-on work in Tanzania, as well as the impact donors make in the lives of orphans.
