UNDATED - Despite all of our recent rains the U.S. Drought Monitor says much of Minnesota is still in a drought.

The northern parts of Stearns and Benton counties, and a large area north of us are listed as in a "moderate drought". The area from St. Cloud southward is listed as "abnormally dry".

St. Cloud is more than 3.30 inches above normal for rainfall so far in May, we're an inch-and-a-quarter above normal for the spring months, and we're more than a half-inch above average since the first of the year.

However, we're still trying to catch-up from a lack of snow over the winter, and little rain last fall.

There is more rain in the forecast, we have chances for showers and thunderstorms Saturday through Wednesday of next week.
