As recently as Wednesday, Sam Deduno's status for Friday night's game was in jeopardy due to bicep tendonitis. If he was injured it didn't show in the Twins' 5-1 win over Cleveland at Progressive Field.

The righthander improved to 8-7 on the season with a six inning outing in which he struck out six and allowed just three hits.

The Twins scored four runs on doubles, with Josh Willingham (2 RBI), Chris Hermann and Pedro Florimon all knocking in runs with two-baggers.

Minnesota and Cleveland will meet again on Saturday night. Liam Hendricks will start for the Twins opposite the Indians' Zach McAllister.
