ST. PAUL  (AP) - Gov. Mark Dayton has signed a bill expanding eligibility for special license plates available to survivors of veterans who died in military service, as he wraps up the final bills from the legislative session that ended last week.

Gold Star license plates are available to parents and spouses of veterans who die while serving honorably in active military service. The bill Dayton signed Tuesday expands that to their surviving legal guardians and siblings.

Dayton signed four other bills, including packages of technical changes to tax policy and the judiciary. He vetoed a bill that made numerous changes to state education policy.

In all, Dayton signed 93 bills into law from the 2011 regular session. He vetoed a series of Republican budget bills, making a special session all but certain.
