CLEARWATER - Clearwater hosted an open house today, asking residents for their ideas and input on a potential community center.

The center can be built as a result of a half cent sales tax collected in the city that's been accumulating over time. The sales tax was approved in 2008 to allow the city to spend the money on park improvements and the community center.

Planning for the community center is still in its early stages. Clearwater Mayor Pete Edmonson talked about the community gathering together to hear the councils ideas:

Mayor Edmonson also talked about residents being able to submit feedback on the community center idea, via an online survey:

The survey can be found on the Clearwater website. Residents can also visit City hall to take the survey and submit feedback.
