ST. CLOUD -- A longtime volunteer with the St. Cloud Cathedral boys basketball team will be awarded a prestigious honor Wednesday.

The Minnesota State AD's Association will present Steve Feddema with the Distinguished Service Award at the River's Edge Convention Center.

Feddema is a 1981 graduate of Cathedral and has worked with the basketball team for more than 30 years. Cathedral Head Coach Matt Meyer says Feddema is an instrumental part of their boys basketball program.  Meyer says Feddema handles all of the teams stats and acts as a sounding board for other coaches.

Feddema was born with Cerebral Palsy and was unable to play sports in school.

Meyer says his work with the team as a statistician and sounding board for coaches make the award very deserving for Feddema.
