The St. Louis Cardinals overcame a 2-0 Texas lead to beat the Rangers 6-2 in deciding Game 7 of the World Series Friday night.  After giving up 2 runs in the first inning Cris Carpenter threw 5 shutout innings to get the win.  David Freese hit a 2-run double in the first inning and Yadier Molina had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the Cardinals.  Freese was selected as the series MVP after leading the Cardinals to an unbelievable come from behind win in game 6.
