ST. PAUL (AP) - A young man was shot in St. Paul the same night of a vigil for a woman who was fatally shot two blocks away.

Police spokesman Howie Padilla says the man was conscious and breathing when taken to the hospital after the shooting about 8:45 p.m. Monday.

He was shot near the evening vigil for 20-year-old Naressa Turner. She was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle in the same alley Sunday afternoon. No one has been arrested, and police said the crime did not appear to be random.

Padilla says they don't know yet if the shootings are related.
