ST. CLOUD -- Vacationers in the St. Cloud area now have another destination to fly to from St. Cloud Regional Airport.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has announced Allegiant Airlines will offer two flights per week to Orlando, Florida starting in December.

Kleis says by adding another leisure destination out of St. Cloud to go along with the Mesa, Arizona service, will help St. Cloud attract more flights in the future...

City officials are still working to get direct flights from St. Cloud to Chicago to serve the businesses in the area.  In fact, Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation President Patti Gartland says the GSDC conducted a travel usage survey to quantify the scope of air service demand in the St. Cloud area for both leisure travel and business travel...

GSDC Chair Al Kremers says they hope to announce another leisure destination with Allegiant in the near future.  Kremers says they are in talks with 9-10 airlines about daily flights to Chicago.  He says those discussions are also going well and they hope to secure that partnership soon as well.
