2nd Swimming Quarry Planned for Quarry Park

WAITE PARK - A second swimming quarry is being added to Quarry Park.

The Stearns County Board of Commissioners approved a five-year parks plan yesterday (Tuesday).

The new swimming quarry will be closer to the parking lot, and will be meant to be a smaller, quieter, family-oriented quarry.  The plans include creating a gradual sloped entrance.

The county received a $15,500 grant from Bernick's to help cover the cost.
