ST. JOSEPH -- The annual 2013 Quilt Show kicks off at the Haehn Center tomorrow (Saturday) at the College of St. Benedict.

This year's theme is, "Running With Scissors," and is put on by St. Cloud Heritage Quilters.

More than 500 quilts will be on display tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There are 78 quilters competing for the top prize which is a raffle quilt valued at $2,600 and measures 102 inches by 102 inches. Second place prize is a sewing machine valued at $599.

Kathy Crabtree is a member of heritage quilters. She says the proceeds will be used for various activities including bringing speakers to town.

The cost of admission is seven dollars. While you're there you will be given a ballot slip to pick your five favorite quilts.

There are 54 ribbons that will be awarded based on viewers choice. Each quilt will also have a story displayed next to it that highlights the story behind it.

Quilts intended for sale will be marked with a tag.
