2 Ex-High School Athletes Accused of Sexual Crimes

BROWERVILLE  (AP) - Two former high school athletes in central Minnesota are facing charges accusing them of sexual crimes against their teammates.

The most severe charge filed Thursday against Seth Kellen of Browerville and Connor Burns of Clarissa is third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving penetration. Both 18-year-olds were seniors at Browerville High School last school year.

Kellen's attorney, Chris Karpan, calls the charges "patently ridiculous." He says the "inappropriate hazing activities" have long gone on at the school. Kellen is accused of groping teammates and exposing himself.

It's unclear whether Burns has an attorney.

Todd County prosecutor Chuck Rasmussen says the case isn't about hazing. He also says there's no indication school officials knew about the incidents, two of which allegedly occurred during this year's state basketball tournament.
