UNDATED - Zebra mussels have been found in two more central Minnesota lakes. The DNR says the invasive species have been confirmed in Clearwater Lake in Wright and Stearns Counties, and in Ruth Lake in Crow Wing County.

A resident on Clearwater Lake called the DNR on July 6th after finding a zebra mussel attached to a native mussel. Eight more zebra mussel were discovered in two locations about eight miles apart.

A man vacationing on Ruth Lake says his 15-year-old son found a zebra mussel on a rock.

Both lakes were most-likely infested by people who had the invasive species attached to a boat, dock, or water not drained from the boat.

Earlier this year the DNR found Zebra mussels in Fish Trap Lake in Morrison County.
