FOLEY - Today (Tuesday) we're starting a new weekly series on WJON called "Your Town Tuesday", highlighting the happenings in our area communities.  First-up in the series is Foley.

Foley is named for one of seven brothers - John Foley - who came from Canada in the early 1880's. It became the county seat of Benton County in 1902, after a battle with Sauk Rapids.

Mayor Gary Gruba says the town of just over 2,600 is a great place to live and work. He says there's a development of new homes on the north side of Foley.

Gruba says the city is always interested in attracting new businesses to town.

Gruba says they have just a small street construction project this summer on 4th Avenue South.

Gruba says Foley is a great place to come and play.  He says the town is very proud of their outdoor pool. The pool is officially opening for the season tomorrow (Wednesday).

Gruba says the town is also getting ready for their annual "Foley Fun Days" celebration, coming up next Friday through June 18th.

Coming-up next Tuesday in our "Your Town Tuesday" series, we're stopping in Rice.
