Young Boy Hurt in Stearns County Boating Accident

Steven Wright

PAYNESVILLE — A 5-year-old Edina boy was hurt when the kayak he was riding in was hit by a boat this morning.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at about 10:15 a.m. on Lake Koronis.

The driver of the boat, 66-year-old Donald Manion of Coon Rapids was pulling a water skier when authorities say his boat struck the kayak with two juvenile boys on it.

The 5-year-old received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Paynesville Hospital.
