ST. JOSEPH -- The Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa is set to perform in Escher Auditorium at the College of St. Benedict Friday.

The group performs traditional African pieces along with Christian hymns and popular songs from artists like Bob Marley and Simon and Garfunkel. The choir has performed infront of President Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Nelson Mandela.

In 2003 they founded their own AIDS orphan foundation where they've raised over $4 million to support sick families.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets range from $22 to $35 depending on your seat with a discount for students and seniors.
