ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - State officials say Minnesota agribusinesses seeking export markets should consider putting South America or Southeast Asia on their radar screens.

These markets will be the focus of an educational workshop Thursday offered at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with Food Export Midwest. An expert on food exports to South America will spend the morning with company representatives discussing opportunities in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. In the afternoon, a Foreign Agriculture Service official will examine the export potential in Vietnam.

MDA International Marketing Manager Shannen Bornsen says it's a unique pairing of target regions, but adds that these are the fastest-growing markets for agricultural products.
