Workers Harvest Carp At Minnesota Lake
CHANHASSEN (AP) — A carp harvest is under way on a Twin Cities area lake.
Workers from the University of Minnesota were harvesting common carp from Lake Lucy in Chanhassen on Thursday.
The fish are harmful because they feed on vegetation at the bottom of lakes, harming water quality.
Researchers have been harvesting the fish from a chain of five lakes, including Lucy, in Chanhassen since 2006.
The caught carp will be killed.
