MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Two workers fled to the roof of a high rise in downtown Minneapolis after welding sparks ignited a fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire on the eighth floor Thursday morning and ventilated the 10-story building.

Reports say the workers were rescued from the roof of the 106-year-old Ceresota building, which is being converted from office space to senior apartments.
