WAITE PARK -- Waite Park Police are investigating a garage sale theft. It happened Sunday afternoon in the 2000 block of 1st Street North.

Police say a man and woman arrived to pick up some furniture the agreed to buy and stood by while waiting for someone with a truck to come pick it up. When the homeowner was left alone, the woman grabbed the cash box, said "I'm sorry", and fled to a waiting car.

The vehicle was described as a small gray or silver car, possibly a Ford Focus. It was being driven by a white man with very short hair and dark shirt.

The woman is described as white, with dark hair in a pony tail about 20-30 years old. She was wearing a pink shirt and jeans with large holes in both legs. She appeared to be pregnant.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Waite Park Police or Tri-County Crimestoppers.
