STAPLES - A woman and her young son escaped with just minor injuries after their car rolled into a swamp.

The Todd County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. last Thursday near Staples.

Melissa Thompson of Verndale was heading east on Thunder Road when she lost control. The vehicle landed on it's roof in the swamp. They escaped out a back window.

Both were taken to Staples Hospital with minor injuries.
