RED WING, Minn. (AP) – Authorities have rescued a 26-year-old woman who fell off a bluff in Red Wing.

The Red Wing Fire Department got the call just after 9:45 a.m. Tuesday that the woman had fallen from the north side of Barn Bluff.

Crews were on the scene in 2  1/2 minutes. In about 15 minutes, others came with ropes and other rescue equipment.  Two fire department paramedics descended the slope and began to care for the woman.

A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter was sent to help get the woman to Mayo Clinic Health Systems Red Wing.  Reports say she was later airlifted in stable condition to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Red Wing Fire Capt. Jim Eppen says the fire department regularly trains for such rescues.
