ST. CLOUD -- Two St. Cloud women are charged with a surprise attack on a woman, spraying her with mace and assaulting her in her apartment building.

Stearns County prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Lakeya Johnson and 22-year-old Shante Cook with felony first degree burglary and another count of misdemeanor assault.

Records show the victim answered a knock on her door in the 1400 block of 9th Avenue South and was attacked with mace by Johnson and then was "bum rushed" by a group of people who assaulted her in the doorway. The victim told police she was kicked and punched in the face multiple times, dragged into the hallway by her hair and continued to be attacked.

Responding officers noticed injuries to the woman's head and blood spatter in the apartment. The victim's cell phone was also missing from the kitchen counter.

The victim told police she believed Cook let the group into the apartment building and participated in the attack.

Police say Johnson admitted to attacking the victim and was looking for the father of her child.
