ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud police say they have made an arrest in the shooting incident that happened this (Tuesday) afternoon near a south St. Cloud Park.

Just before 5:00 p.m. the suspect, 19 year old Malcom Cooper of St. Cloud was taken into custody after the Sartell Police Department conducted a felony traffic stop at Pinecone Road and 3rd Street South.  Cooper had been developed as the suspect through the on going investigation.

Cooper will be held for court on assault charges.

The incident happened this (Tuesday) afternoon at about 1:00 p.m. in a park in the 700 block of 13th Street South.

The incident sent multiple people running from the area. A 19-year-old woman was hurt when the suspect fired a gun from a vehicle toward people standing outside a home. Investigators do not believe the victim was struck by a bullet, but have not confirmed whether her injuries were from bullet fragments or other debris. She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life threatening injuries to her legs.

Police don't believe the woman was the intended target.
