RAMSEY - An Elk River woman is hospitalized after she tried to flee from police.  The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened at about 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning on Highway 10.

The Ramsey police department tried to stop 33-year-old Sherry Turner's car when she took off.  She was traveling at a high rate of speed when she left the road, struck a sign, and rolled over.  The vehicle came to a rest on it's roof in some shallow water.

Turner was taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids with non life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol says alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the incident.
