MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis woman has been sentenced to three years in prison for abducting a friend's baby.

Thirty-year-old Isabel Diaz-Castillo was sentenced Monday after earlier pleading guilty to one count of kidnapping. The abduction of the 8-month-old boy last February prompted an Amber Alert. Prosecutors say Diaz-Castillo befriended the baby's mother about a month before the child was taken from his Minneapolis apartment.

Authorities found Diaz-Castillo with the baby in her arms in the basement of her apartment.

The defendant will get credit for 181 days she's been behind bars. After she finishes her sentence, she must register as a predatory offender or face deportation.
