Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Downtown Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Police say a woman was struck and killed by a car as she crossed Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis during a winter storm.

The woman apparently was walking in the crosswalk when she was struck Tuesday evening by a vehicle attempting to turn. She later died from her injuries.

A group of people walking with the victim were not hurt. Visibility was low and roads were icy around the time of the 5:30 p.m. crash.

Police say the driver immediately stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
