ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A St. Paul woman charged with drowning her 6-year-old daughter in a bathtub last month has been found incompetent to stand trial.

Results of a mental health evaluation were presented Thursday at a hearing for 25-year-old Kayla Jones.

Jones is charged with one count of second-degree murder in Ramsey County in the death of her daughter, Azaria Jones, on December 23rd.

Reports say Jones appeared in court in a protective green vest.

Judge Joy Bartscher said Jones would be transported to Regions Hospital for further evaluation, and would be referred for civil commitment.

According to the complaint, police were called to the apartment and found Jones' boyfriend crying and screaming. Jones was arrested at the scene in wet clothes.
