WJON Talks with Senator Franken on Gas Prices [AUDIO]
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Al Franken is going after oil speculators, in an effort to bring down gas prices. During an interview with WJON news this (Wednesday) morning, Franken says he's co-authored legislation that would prevent speculators from artificially inflating the price of fuel.
He says only about a third of the companies that buy fuel in advance need to do it.
Franken says speculators are driving up the price of gas by as much as .56 cents a gallon.
He also says we need to decrease our dependence on foreign oil by doing a variety of things.
