OAKDALE (AP) - An Oakdale woman says a man who shot a gun in her neighborhood appeared "nonchalant" as he strolled down the block, firing multiple times.

Fifty-five-year-old Cheryl Russell says she was on her couch about 6 p.m. Monday when she saw a man in dark clothes walking on the street. Russell says the man seemed to be out for a stroll, but then began firing. Russell says she heard about 15 shots.

Police say the 34-year-old man shot randomly at passing vehicles.

A 9-year-old boy in one vehicle was killed and his mother was wounded. A 68-year-old woman in another vehicle was also wounded. The man was arrested several blocks away and is in custody in Washington County Jail. Prosecutors are reviewing the case for possible charges.
