Wintry Weather Expected in Southeastern Minnesota
UNDATED - A winter storm is expected to produce accumulating snowfall and potentially blizzard conditions across far southern MN Tuesday through Tuesday Night.
The heaviest snow looks to fall from Iowa through southeastern Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Forecasters say a winter storm could dump up to a foot of snow on southeastern Minnesota and bring blizzard-like conditions this week.
The National Weather Service says the storm could reach Rochester, Albert Lea and other cities in that part of the state during the day Tuesday. Between 8 to 12 inches of snow are possible.
A blizzard watch is out for southeastern Minnesota from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night. Winds gusting up to 40 mph are expected to cause whiteout conditions along Interstate 90 in southern Minnesota Tuesday and Tuesday night.
The forecast for Minneapolis-St. Paul is more uncertain. Weather service meteorologist Andy Lah says the Twin Cities could see 2 to 3 or maybe 4 inches of snow.
