UNDATED (AP) - Travel is challenging in parts of Minnesota, especially to the west where a winter storm warning remains in effect.

Traverse and Big Stone counties are included in the National Weather Service warning. Four to eight inches of snow accumulated across the Twin Cities metro and western Minnesota since Monday. Dozens of schools delayed classes Tuesday by two hours because of the weather.

The weather service says at least 9 inches of snow fell at Lake Benton in Lincoln County and 8.6 inches at Redwood Falls in Redwood County. .

Snowplow drivers were eager to hit the roads for their busy season. Alex Kranz of Paynesville says he was ready to begin work, but expects that getting up at 3 a.m. will get old soon.
