WINONA -- Winona officials are considering banning games from Veterans Memorial Park where a heated confrontation with "Pokemon Go" players was captured on video.

The video taken Thursday evening shows the 67-year-old man, a Vietnam veteran, cursing and overturning a portable picnic awning. The video has generated more than 910,000 views on YouTube.

Bruce Daniel Reed Jr. of Winona was cited for fourth-degree criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

Reed says he was having a "flashback" to Vietnam during the confrontation.

The Winona City Council was scheduled Monday evening to consider the proposed ordinance.

Council member Gerry Krage, a military veteran, says using the park to play the smartphone game - where players hunt for virtual Pokeman creatures- is disrespectful.
