William “Bill” Thomas Trunk, 77, Princeton

William “Bill” Thomas Trunk, 77, of Princeton, MN, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Princeton Elim Home.
Bill was born on September 10, 1937, at home near Princeton, the son of William and Ellen (Esler) Trunk. He grew up on the family dairy farm near Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School in 1955. Following graduation he joined the United States Army National Guard until the early 60’s. Bill was united in marriage to Mary Ann Jansen on November 18, 1961, in Milaca and enjoyed over fifty years of marriage. The two resided on the family farm where Bill was a lifetime dairy farmer. The couple was blessed with three children and also raised many foster children.
Bill was a lifetime member of Christ Our Light Catholic Parish in Princeton; his faith, family and farm were very important to him. He especially loved his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed bird watching, photography and sharing his photos. He also liked dancing in his younger days and never missed the news.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Princeton; children, Donna (Greg) Plante of West Saint Paul, Bill (partner John Murph) Trunk of Washington D.C. and Tom (Connie) Trunk of Princeton; grandchildren, Stephanie Plante, Joe (Victoria) Plante, Katie (Dan) Wagner; and Nathan Trunk and Melissa Trunk; great-granddaughter Sylvia Anderson-Plante; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Eleanor, Phyllis, Bonnie and Shirley.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish – North Campus in Princeton. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 5-8PM with a prayer service beginning at 6PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Edward’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
