Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids for Wilfred “Bill” A. Winkelman, age 65, of Clear Lake who passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday. Rev. Robert Harren will officiate and burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Sauk Rapids VFW Post 6992 will pray at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Bill was born Nov. 16, 1950 in St. Cloud to Kenneth & Ann (Tschacher) Winkelman. He lived in Benton County all of his life. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver for Jack Frost from 1971-1981 and for Knife River from 1981-2008 when he retired due to a disability. He was a member of Sauk Rapids VFW Post 6992. Bill enjoyed bowling, softball, fishing, John Deere tractors, and spending time with family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved his grandchildren and always said, “Don’t make a fuss”.

Survivors include his children, Kenneth of Clear Lake, Jacob of Clear Lake, and Holly (Billy) Bursaw of Clearwater; grandchildren, Matthew, Aurora, Austin, and Haylee; family friend, Nancy Laughton of Waite Park; brothers and sisters, Jim (Elaine) of Rice, Jack (Barb) of South Sioux City, NE, Patty Allen of Onamia, Bob (Linda) of St. Joseph, Susie (Roger) Smith of Michigan, Dick (Julie) of Foley, Joe of Elk River, Laura of Monticello, Connie of St. Cloud, Scott (Marcie) of Ontario, Canada, and Dale of Clear Lake. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters and brother, Diane Latzka, Kathy Winkelman, and Danny Winkelman.

Memorials are preferred.
